WordAbsurd is a daily word-chain puzzle game. References to "we", "us", or "our" refer to the WordAbsurd service.
When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed copy of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
We store your game progress (scores, streaks, commendations, settings) so it syncs across devices.
If you opt in to daily reminders, we store that preference alongside your email and use it only to send the reminder.
We store your daily leaderboard submissions (score, words completed, display name, career rank title) so other players can see your result.
We do not use analytics tracking, advertising SDKs, or third-party cookies. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Your email is used to: verify your account, send password reset links, and (only if you opt in) send one daily puzzle reminder. You can turn off reminders at any time in Account Settings.
You can delete your account at any time from Account Settings. When you request deletion your account is flagged and permanently deleted after 30 days, giving you a window to change your mind by contacting us. All associated data (progress, scores, settings) is deleted along with it.
Passwords are hashed with Argon2id. Sessions are stored server-side as hashed tokens and expire after 30 days of inactivity. Communication between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS.
